TAICHI
ABOUT TAICHI
The chief physician of the Chinese Emperor living in the 13th century entertained a historic doubt.
Of all the living beings created by God, human beings alone live with fear without knowing how to defend themselves from their fellow beings even though they are gifted with sixth sense. They are physically weak and afflicted with diseases. But the life style of animals is quite different. They are very strong in physique and they are capable of defending themselves. Chang San Feng was curious to find out this basic difference. Hence, he resigned from the office of the chief physician of the emperor and returned to the forest. He observed and analysed the life style of the animals and birds with a peaceful mind and single minded purpose.
In the end, wisdom dawned upon him and he discovered that the birds and animals live in harmony with nature without any stress. Therefore, they are strong and are capable of defending themselves. But human beings weaken themselves through stress, undisciplined mind, irregular food habits and leading a life that is not in harmony with nature. Therefore they live in fear throughout their life. Sang sung peng received a divine gift from God to address these weaknesses of humanity. The divine gift is Tai chi.
